November 20, 2025

Good evening, Polaris Families!

It is with both excitement (and an equal amount of nervousness) that I share with you that this will be the final Wolf Weekly being sent from my desk while I step out on maternity leave for the next few months. Rest assured that the school, our students, and our weekly communications are in good hands while I am out to welcome Baby Clay #2.

Please continue to reach out through the normal channels for support/aid– our teachers, office staff, counselor, and nurse are still here to take your calls and emails; however, if you were hoping to connect with me for a concern, please direct your communication to Karen Andrews, our stand-in Principal during my leave. Karen is the current Assistant Principal at Benny Bensen and is well prepared (and excited) to support our community through December and January. Her email is andrews_karen@asdk12.org. You will also be able to reach her by contacting the front office.

Please take a close look at the calendar of events that is outlined below, which has been updated to document happenings in our building from now until our return from Winter Break and the Launch of Polaris Winter Intensives. As a reminder, during Winter Intensives (January 5-16), all students will dismiss at 2:00 PM to accommodate our Intensive schedule.

Wishing you and your families a wonderfully relaxing and joyous holiday season– I will see you again in February!

With care and kindness,

Tia

Reminders from Previous Issues:

Student-Led Conferences | Schedule Your Conference Now!

Our Student-led Conferences (SLCs) at Polaris are quickly approaching! SLCs are a core, and mandatory, component of our program where we get to celebrate the learning of each student with you, their family. Friday, December 5th and Friday, December 12th are reserved conference days– students do not attend school, but each must sign-up for a 30-minute conference time with their family group teacher or advisor. Please use this link to ASD Conference Scheduler to select your conference time. When prompted, select [mix] for student grade level. We look forward to joining you for these truly inspiring conference conversations.

Fine Arts Night | December 5

Celebrate the artistry and musicianship of the Polaris at the annual Fine Arts Night from 6:00-8:30PM on Friday, December 5th. There will be music from small groups, the orchestra, band, and choir. Walk around enjoying the displays of the Polaris student art. Get holiday shopping in by perusing the Silent Auction or make your own gifts at our Creative Station. And get a head start on baking at our Cake Auction. All proceeds from this event will go towards supporting the art and music programs at Polaris.

Do you have art to donate to the Silent Auction? Complete this online form.

November | Toys For Tots

During the month of November, our school-wide community service project will be collecting new, unwrapped toys and games to donate to Toys for Tots. If you have the means to help support this initiative, there will be a collection box in the foyer. We appreciate your help in extending our reach to help our greater community and kids in need.
