October 30, 2025

Good evening, Polaris!

I hope you are all well and warm as our Winter officially approaches. Yesterday, we held our All-School Seminar, where students across our K-12 community joined together to read and discuss But It’s Not My Fault by Julia Cook. This unique program feature, conducted only here at Polaris, provides students with an impactful opportunity to connect deeply with each other and with an intentional lesson surrounded by kids of differing ages, abilities, backgrounds, and ideas. This year, our focus was on accountability, one of our core school-wide expectations. Moments like these provide a timely reminder of how different our program is and the truly powerful program approaches that aim to support the growth and development of students not only for success here within our walls, but also for the life and world they face beyond our doors. Polarian Pride runs deeply on days like yesterday.

In other news, tomorrow is Halloween 🎃. Students are encouraged to wear costumes; however, they have been reminded that costumes must be school-appropriate. Costumes should not detract from the learning environment, include weapons (even recognizably fake), or cover their face.

We look forward to a great day tomorrow and hope our community has a wonderful weekend.

With kindness,

Tia

Winter Intensive Registration is LIVE | Deadline Nov. 9, 11:59 PM

It’s time to get excited about our upcoming Winter Intensives, which will take the place of our regular academic classes from January 5-16. Registration for our available courses is now open– we encourage families to please review the following prior to registering:

  • Please read through the entire Intensive Catalog to preview all available course offerings– pay special attention to commitments from families that some/most courses require; course fees, parent/family volunteers, special equipment, etc.
  • Due to the limited number of seats available in each class, it is necessary for all students to select three (3) different choices, as prompted in the registration form. Any requests that do not indicate three different options will not be considered.
  • Students who have past due balances from Fall Intensives will have their registration requests held until all other requests have been granted– invoices and past due balances have been mailed with prior notice of this action if this pertains to you/your student.
  • Confirmations will be shared with students via Student/Parent Connect on November 14. Pay special attention to the course instructor as many of the course names will be similar.
  • Associated fees for confirmed intensives will be due on December 12. Fees must be paid by this deadline to reserve your child’s spot in their confirmed intensive.
  • For families who may need financial assistance to cover or offset the cost of intensives, scholarships are available. Please fill out the Intensive Scholarship Application, which will open on November 14. Scholarship applications are due November 23 at 11:59 PM.

Register Here! (Deadline November 9 at 11:59 PM)

November | Toys For Tots

During the month of November, our school-wide community service project will be collecting new, unwrapped toys and games to donate to Toys for Tots. If you have the means to help support this initiative, there will be a collection box in the foyer. We appreciate your help in extending our reach to help our greater community and kids in need.

Texas Roadhouse Dine to Donate | November 5

We would like to invite our community to join us on Wednesday, November 5th at the North Anchorage Texas Roadhouse (Tikahtnu) for another Dine-to-Donate fundraiser for Polaris. 10% of your total purchase will come right back to Polaris to help support students and teachers. Please show this flyer to your waiter/waitress to ensure your contribution is counted. We hope to see you there!
